“Berry” Enjoyable Educational Tours
ALL EDUCATIONAL TOURS WERE CANCELLED FOR 2020 AND FUTURE BOOKINGS REMAIN ON HOLD DUE TO THE PANDEMIC.
We realize that in your role as educator you are always looking for a quality educational experience for your students. Gurosik’s Berry Plantation can provide that experience. We now host educational tours by reservation. Focus is grades K-4. All tours are approximately 1.5 hours in length and include:
Children and adults pick a quart of fresh strawberries while learning about plant growth and production. Each attendee receives a delicious strawberry slushie made from our berries.
Each student receives a “Berry Time” booklet which includes word and picture puzzles and simple recipes
Tour of a working bee hive.
Rural nostalgia – “See the Tree that Ate a Gate”
Aquaculture – Whistle-up and feed Mr. Whiskers! Observe thousands of catfish.
Use of shelters and picnic area. Ample photo opportunities.
Ample parking, easy access and egress, clean restrooms and a special treat for the bus drivers.
Tours can be scheduled for early April through mid May – Monday through Friday
Cost is $7/person for students and chaperones
Teacher and teacher assistants admitted free (limit 2/class).
Teachers/Parents/Chaperones and Bus Drivers are encouraged to identify berries by student’s name and store in a cool shaded area until leaving the farm.
Refrigerate as soon as possible & redistribute to the appropriate children by day’s end.
Remember that strawberries are fragile and will spoil quickly if not kept refrigerated.
We are not responsible for any berries that are improperly handled after leaving the farm.
